Crow's Eve

A Halloween platformer that plays in
the browser, free to play, forever.
Crow crosses four levels of rooftops
and swinging chains to the boss on the
last roof with a blade, six guns and
the story told between levels.

Crow fires at The One Who Laughed on the last roof, under a red moon.

SCREEN CAPTURE

What it does

  1. 01

    Rebuilt
    in Phaser

Crow's Eve began as a runner in Rive.
Our Rive seat ends October 29, so
we rebuilt it in Phaser, which is
    open source.

  2. 02

    Four levels
    and a boss

Each level is built from rooftops, gaps,
    swinging chains and slates that break;
the boss holds the last roof.

  3. 03

    A blade and
    six guns

Each weapon kills its own way: the bone
saw ricochets, the lantern mortar burns
    and the grave magnet crushes.

  4. 04

    Full red,
    or clean

In full, pieces leave each figure and
blood stays where it lands; the clean
setting turns every death into light.

From the first card
to a kill

A and D move, Space jumps and jumps
again in the air, and a click fires.

  • SCREEN CAPTURE

The first card: Callum's lines fade
in as his voice reads them, and a press
    shows them all at once.
  • SCREEN CAPTURE

Level 2: Crow rides a swing over the
drop as crows cross the sky and three
    lanterns glow green.
  • SCREEN CAPTURE

The clean setting: the hex pistol
takes a Grim-Lantern, and it goes up in
    a burst of light.
