Miwok DeVille

A pinup and gearhead brand with its own publishing platform: Naomi posts photos, captions, and whole new pages from her phone, and the site renders them live with no deploy.
The organization
Miwok DeVille is the personal brand of Naomi Fritzinger: Coast Miwok heritage, pinup contests, and a 1973 Chevy K20 named Stella Stiletto that gets rebuilt one weekend at a time. The brand needed a home that could hold all of it at once, because a feed with one label flattens her into whichever photo you saw first.
The challenge
Her audience lives on Instagram, but a rented feed buries history and owns the relationship. She needed her own domain, her own archive, and a way to post to it herself: from a phone, between shows, without waiting on me to ship code.
My approach
Her domain, our codebase
miwokdeville.com serves from the same Next.js app as this studio site. The proxy reads the host and routes her visitors to her pages, her titles, and her own favicon; the two sites share one Railway service, and each keeps its own search presence.
A studio in her pocket
Her /studio is a protected route where she picks photos, resizes them on the device, writes captions, chooses one of ten card styles, and creates whole new pages. Every post reads out of Postgres, so the public site updates the moment she saves.
Postgres decides who edits
Row-level security allows public reads and accepts writes only from her account and mine. The rule lives in the database, so no browser bug or leaked URL can turn a visitor into an editor.
The heritage page waits for her
The Coast Miwok page shipped empty by design and stays out of search until she authors it. Stock art and generated imagery are banned there permanently; that page is hers alone to fill.

What we built
- Database-driven pages: a page she creates exists publicly the moment she saves
- Email one-time-code login, so there is no password for her to lose
- Ten card styles she picks per photo at post time, all CSS
- A private photo drop for full-resolution originals, separate from the public feed
- Host-aware SEO: her pages index under her domain, and the heritage page flips to indexable on her first post
- One Railway service behind Cloudflare carries her domain and mine
The outcome
The site is live and indexed, and the voice on it is hers: the truck page captions read exactly as she typed them. When a show or a contest sends people looking, they land on a domain she owns, with the whole brand in one place.
