$500

one-time setup

$249/mo

first 12 months

Your domain

yours from day one

Two ways to have it

Same build, same care, same rate. The difference is what happens later.

Just rent it

$249/mo · month-to-month

  • There is no credit check. $500 and a 10-minute call gets you in
  • We build it, host it, and keep it fast, so you can run your business
  • Your domain and your content stay yours, always
  • Leave with 30 days’ notice. The notice month is the only further cost

For businesses that want a premium site working for them, and nothing else to think about.

The growth track

Lease it toward more

$249/mo · 12-month term

  • Everything in the rental, same rate
  • Month 13 onward drops to $199/mo
  • Half of every lease payment accrues as credit toward a full custom build, up to a quarter of that build’s fee, subject to the terms of that build’s agreement

For businesses that want the site now and the platform later.

Both tracks start with the $500 one-time setup. Either way, your domain and content are yours from day one.

Included

  • A fast, mobile-first site on the studio production stack
  • Hosting, SSL, and security handled, with nothing for you to manage
  • Google Search Console set up at launch: the property verified, the sitemap submitted, indexing started, and access shared with you
  • Built to the fundamentals Google actually asks for: indexable, quick, and worth citing (see the AI page)
  • One content or photo refresh each quarter

Not included, and why

  • Custom features, online booking systems, e-commerce, client portals

These aren’t add-ons to a lease. They’re a full custom build under its own agreement. When you need them, that’s a build conversation, and half of what you have paid on the lease counts toward it, capped at a quarter of the build and applied under that build’s agreement.

You’re renting the engine, not your name.

Plain-English summary · full terms provided in writing

  • You own your domain and your content, from day one and if you ever leave.
  • FDS owns the codebase and configuration that runs the site.
  • If you cancel, you keep your domain and everything on it, with an export of your content and any form submissions delivered within 30 days. The underlying build comes back to the studio.

Foundry exists because of how the studio builds. Every FDS site runs on the same production architecture: one hardened stack, configured for each client rather than rebuilt each time. That means a Foundry site can be stood up, kept fast, and maintained for years with an efficiency one-off projects can’t match. It’s why we can lease you a running system instead of only selling you a build.

Questions, answered straight

Do I own my website?
You own your domain and your content from day one, and you keep both if you ever leave. Frederick Design Studio owns the codebase and configuration that runs the site. If you cancel, every word, photo, and the domain itself stay with you; the underlying build returns to the studio.
What happens if I stop paying?
The lease ends and the site comes down, but nothing of yours is held back. Your domain stays in your name and your content goes with you. There is no credit check to start and no exit fee. The studio's build simply comes home.
Can I just rent, without the upgrade path?
Yes. Foundry works as a plain month-to-month rental: Frederick Design Studio builds and runs the site, you pay monthly, and you can leave with 30 days' notice, taking your domain and your content with you. The 12-month lease exists for businesses that want the lower long-term rate and credit toward a future custom build. It's optional.
Can I upgrade to a custom site later?
Yes. Foundry is built as the entry point. When you need custom features like online booking, e-commerce, or a client portal, the lease rolls into a full custom build with Frederick Design Studio, and half of what you paid on the lease counts as credit toward that build's fee, up to a quarter of it, under the build agreement's terms. The credit needs the full 12-month term, since leaving early forfeits it along with the $199 rate, and it stays good for 12 months after the lease ends.
What do I actually get for $249 a month?
A professionally built, mobile-first website running on Frederick Design Studio's production stack, with hosting, SSL, and security fully managed; a one-time Google Search Console setup at launch, with access shared with you; structured data so AI search can read and cite the business; and one content or photo refresh each quarter.
